ABOUT ME

I was born in Venezuela, South America and emigrated to Australia over 10 years ago. From a young age I have been a creative person with a great passion for design and creativity. I enjoy designing and making jewellery in my spare time. I am a highly motivated and passionate individual. I am known for my hard work and attention to detail. I enjoy team work, can work independently to a given timeline, have great initiative and can encourage and get the best from fellow team members. There is much I need to master about design but I am diligent, hard-working, attentive and persistent which forms the basis for efficient learning.

My ambition is to positively contribute to the complex problems facing the world in the 21st century through the design of meaningful, functional and beautiful products and services that truly improve the lives of users and the environment.

WORK EXPERIENCE

POP Plus

I was an intern at POP Plus, a furniture and lighting design studio that focuses on designing and making concrete furniture with other contrasting materials. As a designer and fabricator at POP Plus, I was involved in the design and manufacture of moulds and furniture pieces under the guidance of my industry supervisor. This process involved the use of CAD software (Solidworks), tools (including CNC machine, table saw, power tools and a range of other technical equipment) and handling concrete and other materials such as wood, metals and fasteners. I was also involved in designing mechanisms to join parts of furniture pieces and contributed with the installation of furniture pieces for clients.

The Growth Drivers (TGD Global)

I am currently an industrial design intern at The Growth Drivers, an innovation consultancy that specialises in systems and service design, product design and capability development. As a design intern and under the guidance of my industry supervisor, I have being responsible for designing an activity to be used in online workshops to be used by clients for events that encourage engagement, networking and collaboration among different stakeholders. I have also contributed with the graphic design and visual communication of projects presentation slides and project proposals. Most recently, I am working on researching complex problems, gathering and synthesing data to communicate in visually appealing way.
